Some of you may know that alongside my day job creating the college, in the evenings I would go home and start my night job. Painting.
So. over the last forty years years, the pictures have piled up. When I retired I started looking at them again - this time in daylight. Some of them were ready to be contemplated and admired. Others discarded and needed to be re-imagined. And some quite obviously needed to have further work done on them. Others only needed to be framed.
I thought that as I never had a festive farewell party I would have an Oxfordshire Artweeks party and get in touch with the many people who were such an important part of my college life. Of course I can see you all on LinkedIn and Facebook, but sadly I rarely see anyone in real life.
So when I arranged to take part in Oxfordshire Artweeks this year, I set aside a day when I would invite our old students, tutors and staff to my studio and show a selection of what I had completed over the years in the night job; and to catch up with what everyone has been doing over the last few years.
It would be lovely to meet up again.
Business and creativity go together. Art and entrepreneurship dance hand in hand.
